Move the body

Still the mind

Who am I?

As a former ballet and modern dancer, I discovered Pilates when I was dancing professionally to enhance performance. I returned to Pilates decades later to recover from hip and back pain. Pilates proved to be a rehabilitative miracle and I didn’t have to give up hiking, biking, tennis, golf, skiing, and yoga. Because of Pilates’ importance to me, I became certified by both Polestar® for all Pilates equipment as well as CoreAlign by Balanced Body®.

In addition to moving, I find balance in being still. I have been practicing meditation for almost three decades through the Art of Living Foundation and the School of Practical Philosophy. Meditation has enabled me to develop a deep reservoir of calm, capacity for highly focused energy and creativity, increased immunity, overall positive impact on my mental and physical well-being, an appreciation of our innate wisdom, and recognition of the unity connecting us all.

Meditation leads to greater mindfulness which enhances the Pilates practice. Both meditation and Pilates complement each other perfectly.

My approach

How we use the body affects our mental state, and how we engage mentally, affects our biological functions; I teach Pilates to help clients feel good mentally and be healthy physically.

My training approach supports the body’s goals, whether they are functional, athletic, intellectual, or aesthetic. The Polestar Method inspires my teaching with principles that focus on the breath, axial elongation and core control, spine articulation, organization of the head, neck, and shoulders, alignment and weight-bearing of the extremities, and finally, movement integration.

My clients are trained to move their bodies with intelligence, efficiency, power, and safety. The addition of breath work, meditation, and mindfulness coaching informs a comprehensive and healthful mind/body experience.

The space

Located in the beautiful neighborhood of HiIlltop in the city of Denver, my home studio is centrally located for easy access. The studio space is bright and spacious and houses a reformer, wall tower, Pilates chair, and multiple accessories.
